FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When coming to the larger appliances being worked on, the collect, evaluate & quote process is followed; however appliances such as vacuum cleaners & other floor care appliances such as carpet shampoo machines & floor polishers are dealt differently, we require the customer to bring these appliances to the branch and a minimum fee of R400.00 plus VAT is set for quick repairs under hour labour, however if an assessment is done and this fee is exceeded in the “quote” and the customer chooses not to proceed with the repair no charge is billed.

With 26 branches through South Africa Bergen’s also have access to many “GSH” parts (good second hand) Bergen’s will at times also quote for repairs using such parts, primarily too reduce costs and secondly to repair where no spares are available.
No, we collect, evaluate and quote, if the quote is not accepted the unit is returned or alternatively disposed of on your behalf. (A 5km radius from branch applies to this business model)
Bergen’s outlets will from time to time have loan machines available, specifically washing machines and fridges as these are regarded as essential appliances in modern society. A loaner is offered when available and if the spares required to repairing the customers appliance is expected to take longer than a week, for various reasons such as national distribution in branch or direct import from country or origin.
We offer EFT (electronic fund transfer) secure online payments such as credit card or debit card and not forgetting cash. Bergen’s does not accept cheque payments.
After running diagnostics on your appliance Bergen’s will send you a quote with in an average of 24 – 48 hours (2 work days), many times the repairs are also accomplished in this time period.
Yes, we certainly can. While we list most appliance brands on our website, there’s a chance yours may not be there. This doesn’t mean we can’t service it, though – simply book it in anyway and we’ll see what we can do.
While we sincerely hope this will never be the case, our warranty covers you for a second collection, assessment and repair (free of charge) provided that the fault in question is due to a part that we replaced or repaired initially.
We aim to return your appliance back to you in working order within 2 working days – but there are instances beyond our control (like parts that need to be imported) which could take up to 4 weeks max. But we will let you know should there be a delay.
